Where can I travel to now?

When will I know if the trip I have already booked is taking place?

All tourist destinations in Peru are certified with the “safe travels” seal, our trips will be carried out in a safe way. In the event that there is still a travel warning, we will keep you informed and, once you are well prepared, we will be happy to make the trip in consultation with you. Therefore, we are monitoring each travel destination with our strategic partners on site to see if a trip can be made without any problems.

I don’t want to start my trip booked. What can I do?

If there are no travel restrictions at the place of residence or travel destination, our trips will be conducted safely. If you still don’t feel confident, we will be happy to work with you to find a solution. Furthermore, if you have booked since December 2023, you can change your mind for our group trips up to 1 month before, and 2 weeks for individual trips before the travel date begins, because until then we offer all our bookings a free booking change. Of course, a regular cancellation is possible at any time in accordance with our terms and conditions.

Note: Individual services, such as the Inca Trail or Manu Reserve, may be excluded here; we will provide information regarding this before the booking is finalized and it can be found in your booking confirmation.

My trip does not take place. What are we going to do?

If we unfortunately have to cancel a trip, you are generally entitled to a free cancellation. However, we offer particularly attractive conditions for booking changes or travel vouchers. To ensure that your anticipation remains, you can change to a new date very flexibly and we thank you for your loyalty with a $10 credit per person when rebooking a group trip. Alternatively, we will be happy to issue you a voucher for the deposit, with a discount of 10% of the voucher value. Your money is 100% insured with us! In this way, everyone involved benefits and together we can make the most of this otherwise unpleasant situation. Above all, our local partners are grateful for any support.

What insurance coverage do I need for my trip?

We recommend ERGO Covid-19 supplementary protection:

  • Insurance coverage also applies in the event of a travel warning from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to Covid-19; the travel warning itself is not a reason for withdrawal.
  • Reimbursement of individually agreed quarantine (if there is a suspicion of infection at the time of departure), if the transport is refused by a third party (e.g. airline refuses entry due to temperature rise) and if refused entry (e.g. border official refuses entry due to temperature rise).
  • Your costs will be reimbursed in case of illness or death due to Covid-19.
  • It can be added to ERGO’s annual and one-time travel insurance.
  • Valid worldwide for one trip, all ages, all means of transportation.
  • Medical, surgical and hospitalization expenses of the insured in case of illness due to COVID-19.
